I was not in competition at Cannes, but this year was quite exceptional for one simple reason: a lot of good was announced, and as it turned out - a lot of good offered. A few of my reflections on the subject.

If it was another director, it probably would be set, right now, rather hostile. But this is Malick. He is not Aronofskim.
second most important thing - Refn. Remember this name, because it already means a lot, but for the moment be the primary author of the sensational cinema on this globe, next to Michael Mann. This is his time. "Drive" is said to be a busy, well-narrated cinema shares, which reveals the demonic side of life, and showed that Refn trilogy, "Pusher", and "Bronsonie" and "Valhalla Rising". The guy has his style, he writes good scripts, well directed. I'm starting to be a fan?
